RIM Files Canadian Trade-Mark for 'SurfBook', Could It be for The Tablet?
on Monday, September 20, 2010
With people loosely using the word 'BlackPad' in reference to the upcoming BlackBerry tablet there is now a new term, which may refer to the tablet. In a recent trade-mark filed in Canada, Research In Motion has coined the term 'SurfBook'.
The trade-mark does not give any further details other than normal legal jargon to say it could literally be anything. There isn't any reference or evidence that shows the same trade-mark has been issued in the U.S. or abroad. What say you? Could the BlackBerry 'SurfBook' be the name for the BlackBerry tablet? Or, could it be for some other strange BlackBerry device or service?
