Verizon Giving the Bold 9650, Tour 9630, & Curve 8530 Updates Today
on Friday, October 15, 2010
Verizon Wireless will be giving the BlackBerry Bold 9650, Tour 9630, and Curve 8530 updated software today, as we previously mentioned before. Apparently, these updates are to correct "known issues".
We aren't too sure if this will be an official roll out of OS 6 for the Bold 9650, or just a minor update to OS 5. Nevertheless, we hear the updates should help with the push-to-talk feature for the Bold 9650 and Tour 9630. The official word from Verizon is as follows:
"Verizon Wireless will have software updates available for the BlackBerry Bold 9650, BlackBerry Curve 8530 and BlackBerry Tour 9630 starting today at 6pm EST. These updates include software enhancements to all three devices. For more information about the updates and instructions on how to download please visitwww.vzw.com/boldsupport, www.vzw.com/toursupport or www.vzw.com/curve8530support depending on your device."
It will be interesting to see if the Bold 9650 gets updated to OS 6 or just another OS 5 build. Nevertheless, it is still good to see Verizon rolling out new OS builds for older devices too. So what do you think it will be, just more OS 5 builds or an official release of OS6?
