How to manually remove ActiveSync |
| WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
To remove ActiveSync, follow these steps: 1. If the ActiveSync icon is displayed on the desktop, drag it to the recycle bin. 2. Locate the Microsoft ActiveSync folder, and then rename it or remove it. 3. Click Start, click Run, type Regedit, and then click OK. 4. Locate and delete the following registry keys: • HKey_Local_Machine\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Curren t Version\\Uninstall\\Windows CE Services • HKey_Local_Machine\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows CE Services • HKey_Users\\Default\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows CE Services 5. Restart the computer and reinstall ActiveSync. After you restart the computer, if a Get connected dialog box is displayed, click Cancel, and then continue reinstalling ActiveSync. |
